THE HOUNDS AT CAMBRIDGE.
At ono o'clock on Saturday, about thirty sat down to a gumptious lunch, at the Criterion Hotel, provided by the liberality of Mr Hewitt. After the "inner man" had been *\vell fortified, Mr Buckland proposed tho health of " Our worthy Host," which was drunk enthusiastically, and duly responded to. The hounds, accompanied by a field of about forty, then proceeded to Tamahere, where they threw off, on the farm of Messrs Douglass. Several hares were turned out, but the scent woidd not lie, on account of the dryness of the ground, and the hounds could not follow it up. Several attempts 5 were made to get a run, but were unsuccessful. A good many jumps were taken, but a fair run Avas not to be had. Most of the field were well mounted, and had the Aveather been, favorable, somefgood hunting might have been enjoyed. The hounds are m excellent condition) , and reflect great credit on the huntsman, Mr Roberts. At five Vclock, the horn Avas sounded, and we returned home.
