CRICKET MATCH AT ALEXANDRA.
Though early m the season for cricket, advantage was taken* of Saturday being a fine day, and a scratch match was arranged between the Constabulary stationed here and the teams, beisg imported men versus colonial bred youths, and, as will be seen, was an easy victory for the Colonials. The fielding and bowling on both sides was very indifferent, whilst the batting of several was good. In the evening, a meeting was held, when twenty-five members paid into the Club. A committee was also appointed, to get the ground into order, and to arrange with the other settlements for matches, during the ensuing season. The imported men were captained by T. Mole, while S.
