CAMBRIDGE.

The Maoris have, most of them, left Cambridge. Afetv still remain, and it would seem that they were the most rowdy, as on Saturday they created a disturbance at the end of Duke-atreet, and as the police could not be found at the time, they were quickly put in the right about by one or two pakehas. Tho roads are. in a very bad state. The approach from the Karapiro Bridge, is nothing but a slough, and Diike-street is nearly as bad. The farmers are extensively going in lor wheat. A large acreage has boen already planted with winter wheat at Pukekura, Tamahere and Tdotaoroa. Farmers have been complaining pretty loudly that the recruits for the Armed Constabulary enrolled a short time back, have been taken from their best agricultural laborers. Many settlera have lost in this way some of their best hands. They hope that if further recruits are wanted, they will be taken from Auckland, or from some place where they are not likely to get farm laborers. The members' of the Dramatic Club havt fixed apon two pieces to give at a future performance to defray the expenses of the Clab.

The additions to the school building are progressing- rapidly. They will be completed by the end of the week. The school is at present held in the Public Hall, through tbe Madness of tho Hall Committee. Bub this weather it must be very cold, as the building is not lined, and there are no means of warming it. They will no doubt be glad to get into the school agaiu. — Own Correspondent.
