August 18. Mb Fixch of the Alexandra Hotel lost two horses some three weeks since and offered two pounds reward for their recovery. Jo 3 Turner found them at Wharepapa on Friday last in possession of a native who was at the time working one of them in the plough which he refused to deliver up, saying "he had not yet finished his ploughing". Turner took possession of one, the, other remains with the native, which, to Mr Finch ia a most unsatisfactory arrangement, it being by far the most valuablo animal of the two. — Owx COSBESPONDENT.
