LONDON, 'August 2. Capetown news lo 15th July states that Lord Chelmsford has resigned, and leturned to Durban. The Secretary of State for the Colonies m the House of Commons declined to produce papers relative to Australian defence and regretted their publication m the colony. The court-martial held on Lieut. Carey for deserting the Prince Imperial when attacked by the Zulus has been declared illegal and its decision quashed. BERLIN, August 2. Germany and the Vatican have at length .come to an amicable agreement as to the status of the priest, hood and Catholic subjects m the German Empire. t
