MR McMINN AND THE WANT OF CONFIDENCE MOTION.
The following telegram was forwarded to us, on Sunday, from Mr McMinn, for publication : Wellington, Sunday.
Having received numerous tele grams urging me to support the Government, I would remind the electors that I promised at Te Awamutu to support Sir George Grey's Government as far as an honorable man could. This I have done, and more, but I cannot honestly support them further. In deference to the wishes of my constituents I will not vote against them*but will meet the electors as soon after the Session as possible. In the meantime I trust they will refrain 'from forming an opinion till they have heard me. After which it will be for them to decide whether I have have represented them or not. Depend upon it Waikato interests will not be neglected in the meantime.
Edward G. McMinn.
