The Pakurangi Hounds met here to-day, but started from Orakau, aud finished after an excellent run and capital sport m Kihikihi. Mr Seager Buckland took the lead until near tlie township, when Mr Alexander Bruce made some good jumps, and was the first m at the finish. The attendance was very good.

A fall of coal occurred at 5.30 a.m. to-dajr, m Whi taker and Russell's f mine, Huntley. Joseph McGrlynitt was killed.
