Ecplyiug to questions put, The Premier stated that the amount of Treasury Bills issued during tho financial year was £U., 200, and that there had been no increase during tho last year ; that they had been made- payable m London, under the authority of the Colonial Treasurer, and also, that deficiency bills wore issued during the last year, to the amount of £154,000. In reply to Mr Murray, The Premier said that, m view of the large amount of interest the colony would have to face, consequent on the passing of a Drainage Bill, it was not the intention of the Government to bring down such a measure as promised last session. Rcplyin<? to Mr Curtis, Mr Sheehau stated that the license fees, ico., being- the property of the local bodies, the Government did not feel justified m introducing, a measure to equalise these fees throughout the colony. No impediment would bs placed m the way of local bodies altering- the fees.
