The following correspondence has been forwarded to this journal,, for publication : — Te Kopua, Hurae 12, 1879 Xi te Etita Te Waikato Taima. Kua kite matou i to korero o te nupepa Te Whetu Ahiahi Akeranna mo tc tahi huihuinga korero ki Te Kopua mo Te Whiti te 3 o nga ra o tenei marama. Whakongo nga tangata katoa o te motu nei he nupepa hori hori te Whetu Ahiahi, Kaore a Tawhiao, a AVahanui, a Te Ngakau me era atu Rangatira i noho ki Kopua i muri ite hui nui i amei. Kaore kau he korero penei i tv ki tenei takiroa. Xi te kitea c matou te tangata nana tena horihori ka tino Whakangaua ana taringa ki te kuri. Na Tupotaiii Tukorehu. [translation.] Kopua, July 12, 1879. To the Editor of the Waikato Times. Sir, — Wo have seen an account of a meeting about Te Whiti, at Kopua, on the 3rd day of this month, m a neAVspaper called the Auckland ' Evening Star.' Listen, all tho people of this Island, the 'Evening Star' is a lying newspaper. Neither Tawhiao, Wahanui, Tc Ngakau or the other chiefs haA r e met at Kopua since the great meeting m May. There has not been any such talk m this district. If we coidd only discover the mau who spoke those falsehoods, Aye Avould cause liis ears to be bitten by dogs.
