HAMILTON PUBLIC DOMAIN BOARD.
The first meeting of the Council m its capacity as a Domain Board, -was held at the Borough Council Chambers, Hamilton, on Thursday. j Cr. Gaudin moved, and Cr. McDonald seconded, " That the Mayor (J. B. White, Esq.) be the Chairman of the Hamilton Public Domain Board, for the ensuing year." — Carried uaanimously. It was also resolved, " That Mr J. M. Gelling be appointed Secretary." Resolved, " That the Ordinary Monthly Meetings of the Board be fixed for the first Monday m each month, at .which the meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council is held, to commence from the 7th July, 1&79." Resolved, " That the Secretary be authorised to obtain all the statutes necessary for the guidance of the Board, and the books requisite, and also to "write to the Chairmen of the Auckland and Otago Public Domain Boards, seliciting all the information possible, such as usual routine rules and regulations, standing orders, by-laws, &c, and that he be authorised to obtain legal assistance m managing the affairs of the Board. Cr. Potter moved, and Cr. McDonald seconded, "That Mr T. G. Sandes (if found to be an authorised surveyor, under the Act) be instructed to make a flying survey of the town belts and public domains, and prepare a plan of the same, the board to accompany him on a day to be arranged for the purpose of giving, the instructions deemed necessary." Cr. Dawson moved, and Cr. Gaudin seconded, as an amendment, " That Mr W. C. Breakell be engaged for the above services." For the amendment: Crs. Dawson, Gaudin and the Chairman. For the motion : Crs. McDonald, Gardiner, Potter and Knox. Ordered, " That the Secretary arrange with Mr Thos. G. Sandes, as to what time he can meet the Board, and take a flying survey of the reserves with them."
