Maiden Plate of 20sovs ; 1^- miles — Maid of Honour, 1 , Snowstorm, 2 ; Sir William, 3. Honor took the lead, aud half-way round hid Sir William ou her quarter, fchreelengfchs behind. The latter changed places, bub the Maid won, hard held, by six lengths, fche others being heavily under the whip. Time : 3min. 7_.-aec3.
Autumn Handicap, of lOOsovs. ; 2 miles. — Obawa, 1 ; Peepo'-Day, 2 ; Venus Transit, 3. Maid of Hunor was scratched. Expectation, Resolution, and Confident also ran. This was a good race. Venus Transib led fche first mile, attended by Ofcawa, away from fche ruck, and afc fche post a sheet would have covered the lot. Time : 5 mm. 53aecs. Handicap Steeplechase, of GOsovs ; 3 mile 3, over a fair hunting country. —Old Billy, Bsb 121bs. 1 ; Victor, lOst 31bs. '2 ; Awahu, lOafc 31bs; 3. Old Billy was declared Dibs, overweight. The result was a boil over, Awahu and Vicfcor being the only onas mentioned m fche betting. Afc the second hurdle, Victor's jockey loafc a' stirrup, bufc kept the front till fche last hurdle, when Old Billy with an effort, won by a length. Time : Omin. 28secs. Hack Hurdle Race, of 1 mile. — Riccorungi, 1 ; Sunshine, 2 j Reflection, 3. Bob Sawyer came fco grief afc fche first hurdle, rolling over Copesfcake, his rider, and seriously injuring him. Innkeepers' Purse, of 40sovs ' IJmiles. —Resolution, 9st. 41bs. 1 ; Otawa, 9sfc 41bs. 2 ; Expectation, 9st 4lbs. 3. This was a splendid race between Resolution and Otawa, the former winning by half-a- length. Time: 2 mm. 58secs. Flying Handicap of oOaovs. ; 7 furlongs, Izaak Walton, Bsfc 31bs. 1 ; Slander colfc, 7st. 2 ; Peep-o'-Day, 7sfc. Gibs. 3. The sire and son had a grand struggle for finish. Forced Handicap, of 25sovs. ; 1 mile. — Expectation, 7sb Gibs. 1 ; Venus Transib, 6at. 12lbs. 2; Peep-o'-Day, 7sb 41bs., 3. Maid of Honor, Confident, and Juno also ran, and were very close m at the finish. Besides Copestake's accident, young Quinlivan, who was riding m the same race, ran against a f.ost, and was struck and knocked off his horae. Ho is very Hor\oui?ly hurt. !
