The horses got well away together, and a good run round ensued. Robinson Crusoe took the lead, but was collared by Fly about half way. The others dropped a little behind. Fly gradually increased the lead on Robinson Crusoe, and won by rather more than a length. Waiwera, about three lengths behind^ got third place from Dandy King by ]a neck. Steeplechase ( I tandicap), 25 sova. Gaulton's Harry Mount, 1. Elsa was scratched. The horses got away in rather straggling order, but waited for each other in going up the rise. Robinson Crusoe baulked at the first hurdle, allowing the Don to take the lead, w th Harry Mount close behind. This 'position was maintained going past the Grand Stand, but the Don baulked at the second hurdle, obstinately refusing to take it, leaving Harry Mount to finish. Novel Race, of 30 sovs. — Johnny Morgan, 1 ; Deception 2 ; Billy Donovan, 3. Also ran: Arrow, Main Royal, Kapanga, and Waiwera. This was a good race, the winner having several lengths to spare. Johnny Morgan was sold by auction by Mr Buckland after the race for £22, Mr Lendruin being the purchaser.
