ALIiEGED SHEEP STEALING. Bernard and John Coleman were charged with stealing four sheep, .he property of Ebenezer .A. and Alfred G. Potter. Sergeant MoGovern said the prisoners were only aapprehended on search war rant that day and as a number of witnesses would likely ba required, he would ask for a remand uatil Tuesday, the 18th inst. Remand granted. Bail was allowed eaoh of the prisoners in his own recognisances for £100 and two sureties of £100 each. PETTY LARO2NY. James Hickes was charged with stealing a bottle of brandy, at Te Awamutu, value 7s, the property of Henry Lewis. Sergeant McGovern stated the circumstances of the case, and called Henry Lewis and Constable Gillies, who fully proved the charge. Sentenced to one month's imprisonment in Mount Eden Gaol.
