THE EDUCATION QUESTION.
Sir,—la not the Rev J. Golden rather unfortunate m his authorities? Father Hennebury and other priests sneered at the teachings of the Rev Pastor Chinequy, saying, who would believe "an apostate priest ?" The Rev. Mr Golden, now, cooly asks us to agree with the utterances of "an apostate peer," forgetting, or possibly ignoring that the Rev Mr Chinequy altered his mind some 2o years ago, and his utterances are the result of mature thought, and long and intelligent experience, whilst the conversion of " the peer" is so recent, that ho has not hud time to moderate the proverbial burning zeal of the fresh and ardent convert. If the Marquis of Ripon was a Protestant, or even a Roman Catholic of, say, 25 years standing, hi-* remarks would be more weighty. But converts, like wine, require age—not that I know much about wins. —I am, &c, Lkwis O'Neill. Hamilton, March 7, 1879.
