Correspondence.

(Our correspondence columns are impartially open to all, but we do not in any way identify ourselves with opinions expressed therein.)

Sib, — I have, now, twice seen an assertion in the papers, once in the ' N. Z. Herald,' and once in the Waikaxo Times, made by a Piako Correspondent, to the effect that the Bridge Contractors have been stuck up for want of iron. Such is not the case, and never was, nor is it likely to happen, when there are plenty of blacksmiths at Hamilton, able and willing' to supply iron. — I am, &c, T. G. S. P.S.— I only take the trouble of correoting the mistake, to let ratepayers know that no delay is taking place with the work.

Sib, — I see by mail notice in the Waikato Times, that the mail closes for Auckland at 1 p.m., and wish through your most valuable paper, to ask what time we are supposed to tako, to oatoh the Mail as above. Having had ocoasion to post a letter, a day or so ago, but on doing so, was told by those in the offioo I was too late, it being then four minutes aud a-half to one by the Post-office time. If the ono o'olock mail is to be closed at four minutes and a-half before the advertised time, I think, the Postmaster should notify the fact through your columns.—! am, &c, Pao Bono PUBLZOO.
