RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Hamilton, January 31, 1879. (Beforo H. W. Northcroft, Esq., R.IL) Mere (native woman), was charged with stealing ,£9, from a whare near Orakau, the property of a native man named Kurupuiu. Prisoner pleaded not guilty. Sergeant McGovern said the offender was apprehended late yesterday ev9idng by Constable Gillies, near Ohaupo, after an exciting chase which lasted since Sunday lust, and the money as desoribed by Kurupuru was found on the prisoner. As thf witnesses residedia long distrinoe from Hamilton, he the Serjeant whs unable to proceed with the case on this day, and would ask his Worship to rem md the prisoner until Tuesday, the 4th February. Remanded accordingly.
