■■■ . I A BPEOUt meeting of the Hamilton j Borough f'ounoil was held on Tuesday evenhig, for the appointment of a clerk. Eresoijt : The Mayor and Crs. Gwynne, Hume, Gaudiu, Dawson, Knox, Cos and Beale. Applications were received from Messrs H. M. Salmon, T. H. W. Morns, W. Tnmblo, J. M. Gelling, Jas. McPhcrson, I, If. Smyth, and Dunn. Boforo proceeding to tho election of tho Clerk, Cr. Gaudiu said, that he thought the office hours of tho Council should bo first fixed, indeed, considering that these applications had been received three months, fresh applications should be called for. f|e moved that ttys b6 4oue.
