THE HAMILTON BOROUGH VALUATION.
Sis, — A notice appeared m the Wa.ika.to Times, of Thursday last, thab the valuation list for tho borough of Hamilton is now open for inspection, at tho Council Chambers. I went there, sir, this morning, expecting to find the office open, or, if not, to find the valuation list posted m some conspicuous placo m the porch. Nothing of tho kind. Tho doors were locked. Time: a quarter to twelve (noon), and no list was posted. Surely, the ratepayers should not be sent on wild goose errands, ouch as mine. How often am I to go to the Chambers, on the chance of finding them open? The least that should be done, would be to notify, ou the door of the Council Chamber, or, on one of the extremely ornamental and chastely classical pillars which adorn that structure, what are tho office hours for the attendance of the Clerk? Not one ratepayor m a hundred kuoAva them, and certainly not this Ratepayeu. January 27th, 1879.
