Waikato Times Office, Friday Evening. WAIKATO CATTLE MARKET. J. 3. BUCKIiAND'S stock report. During the month of November, 421 head of cattle, of all classes, were sold at the auction. Prices, throughout the month, ruled high, especially for young stock for which there is an increased demand at high figures. Sheep.—6oo were sold, but the price ruled low, however, the demand is now better, and wethers are inquired for. Horses.—The demand for strong active animals, young and sound, is good, but old horses are almost unsaleable. During the month, 59 horses were sold at satisfactory prices, and there still remains a steady inquiry for good medium and heavy draught stock. ...
AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. MR. A. BTJOKLAND'S WEEKLY KEPOItT. At the Baymarket on Friday last, horse-stock were offered in full numbers. The thoroughbred stock advertised remain uuseld, the reserves not being given for them. Small-sized and inferior riding- ! horses were, also, at low values, but' draught stock of all descriptions -were in steady demand at good prices, and several buyers remained unsuited. Medium draught stock obtained prices ranging from £3O to £SO; riding-horses, £6 to £l4 each; meadow hay, 3s 9d to 4s 3d the ewt.; mowing machine, £10; rickcovers, 30s to 70s each.—At the Kemuera Yards on Thursday, prices ranged from 2{d to 3d the lb., live weight; fat sheep, 3£d per lb.; store hoggetts hj 7s to 8s 6d each; aged ewes, from 3s 6d; yoimg ewes, 10s; 3to 4-year-old steers, £0 to £1 2s Gd ; IS-months-old heifers, £3 10s; 10 to 12-months-old steers, £3; best dairy cows, at profit, £8 10s to £l2; inferior, from £5 ; beef,.27s 6d to 35s the lOOlfes. MESSBS HUNTER AND NOLAN'S WEEKLY BEPOBT. (Jattle: Prices ruled in favor of vendors as compared with the previous week. There remains a demand for good, wellbrod steers, from one to three years old, and cows for the grazier. We quote: Dairy cows, from £7 to £lO 10s; store cows, from £4 to £5 15s; yearling steers, from £3 2s 6d to i 4 2s 6d; l£ and 2-year-old steers, from £4 10s to £5 ss; 3-year-old steers, from £6 to £G 17s Gd; bsef, from 30s to 32s Gd per lOOlbs. —Sheep: We quote: Fat sheep, shorn, from Vis to 17s 9d; fat lanibs, best, from 9s to 12s 9d; inferior, from Gs; store ewes, shorn, from Gs to 7s 6d each.
