He further says, that Rewi _ will not accompany the Native Minister, ai x immediately after his meeting wiih Mr Sheehan, at the house-warming, Rewi will return to "Waikato, and has written to to the same effeot. Those who signed the requisition to Mr W. S. asking him. to com© forward as a; candidate for the County Council, and which he accepted, think themselves somewhat aggrieved by Mr Rutherford's sudden withdrawal, without notice to his supporters, an,d then coming forward as_ a candidate for Rangiaohia. It is thought not at all improbable that Mr Rutherford will find out the truth of the old proverb, "Betweent two stools, etc,"—OWN COBBESrONBENT.
