ALEXANDRA.

October 22, 1875. There has beeu nothing particular to communicate from this settlement lately. Business is, as usual, very dull at this season ©f tho year. The King's son, Tu Tawhiao, with a few other natives, were dowu here last week. They brought but little news. Tawhiao is afc Hikurangi. A messenger had arrived from Kewi, who is at Waitara, inviting Tawhiao there, which the latter declined. The report from Raglan that Tawhiao will proceed from thence (after the opening of the new house, b lilding for him in that locality) to Ngaruawahia, is also denied. Nothing is known about the murderer Hiroki. The natives appear to' think he will not attempt to reaeh Te Kuiti, as they consider he is quito safe among his own people, nnd he is not likely to bring his troubles amongst them. Our townsfolk are pretty well satisfied now that the site of the terminus is fixed in Goodfellow's paddock, although by taking the line nearer here, many are conviuccd that thousands of pounds in its construction might be saved, and give far greater satisfaction to thc natives. Another case of horse-stealing has ocourrcd here lately, Mr Prince being the victim. The horse, it is said, is now in the possession of Te Kooti, he having purchased it.— -Ow CoiiKEsVOXIXEXT.
