HARAAEPE.
October 13. The weather for the past week Las been most favorable for all oufc door work, and all the settlers in this district have been laking advantage of ifc by getting in their crops, as all mosfc all of them are behind with theti work on account of the lato bad weatherOur Block House wants putting in repair, and, certainly, if it is wanted ifc is woi\h keeping in order ; the state it is in now is anything but creditable. The internal fittings have nearly all disappeared in a quiet sort of way. Who is in charge of the Government buildings of this discriprion in the Waikato? Why nofc station a con.stable out here in charge of the district, ho . could then live in the Block House • and take care of it. the expense to the Government A\'ould be no more, and this district has as much right to the services and protpction of one as any other of the districts. In fact, one is often needed, tas parties of the upcountry natives are ofteu down here eel fishing, pig hunting, &3., ancl are continually prowliug about. — Own Corr esponeknt.
