TUHIKARAMEA.
• QotoberU. The general election of the Waipa County Council will take plaoa shortly, and we have to elect our representative. This is a very fitting opportunity to enow our appreciation of the past services of a public spirited man. . The Potion of Tuhikaramea is, at present, veryditterent, and very much better than it was some time af?o, and this ia mainly- due to the untiring-^ well directed efforts of one eottlor, who, though incurring general abuse, aye, and cordial hatred outside the district, worked steadily for us, until each point was gained. I will not 6ay unassisted, for he had the united co-opera-tion and sympathy of his fellow settlers, which is tho best assistance that any public man can have. If this gentleman, whose name it is not necessary to mention here, will consent to represent us m the Ceunty Council, we. may reßt assured that every advantage that can be obtained for the district, will bo obtained ; and our public rights, whether large or small, will be carefully and zealously guarded. — OWN UOEEEsrONDBNT.
