APPOINTMENT OF ANALYTICAL CHEMIST.
Mb Hicks, m accordance with a notice of motion given at last meeting, proposed that Mr Tunny be made a life member of the Club, and appointed Chemical Analyst to the Club. He spoke m support of his motion of interesting a gentleman m Mr Tunny's position m the Club, and of the importance pi getting a just analysis of their manures. They were sending to Eugland for manures, and, when these arrived m Auckland, they should be analysed. The time would, also, come when they would wish to have their soils analysed, m order to see what manures were necessary for the crops. He thought that by making Mr Tunny a life member, and appointing him Analytical Chemist to the Club, they would ensure his greater attention to their interests.—Mr James Runeimair^econded the proposition. Considerable ufiSussion ensued, and Mr Clarke moved, as an amendment, that Mr Tunny bo presented with an annual member's ticket, and appointed Analytical. Chemist to the Club.—Mr William Martyn seconded the amoiidment. Mr Hicks withdrew his motion m favor of the nmondent of Mr Clarke, which wan carried.
