POLICE COURT.—HAMILTON.
Monday, Ootobee 14. (Before W. tf . Seaiancke, Esq., J.P., and I. B. Vialou, Esq., J.P.) DBUNKENNasS. John .Smith and James Raurau, an aboriginal uativo, charged with di-unkon-neaa, wore each fined on and coats. ASSAULT. Ilobert Glover and J. W. Tyral were charged, on the information of Itichard Burke, ot Ohaupo, with having on Sunday ' evening laut assaulted him by throwing beer m hia face. They were further charged with making use of bad language, and cshalleuging Mv Burke to fight, thereby causing a breach of the peace. Sergeant McOovom stated that there had not been time to secure the attendance of the necessary witnesses, and applied for a remand. Glover asked tho Bench to go on with the ease, as they were " billed " to play at different places m the Waikato, and tho public would be greatly disappointed at their non-appearance. The Bench considered that the accused should have thought earlier of this matter, and could not forget that Mr Burkes time was valuable, also. Ihe case was then adjourned until 10 a.m. to-day — the accused being released on finding two sureties m the amount of .£5 each.
