THE MAORI MURDER.
(SPECIAL TO PBEBS AGENCY.) PATEA, Thursday. Hiroki, the Momohaki murderer, was seen on Sunday, and is believed to be hovering around Waitotara hoping to get his wife away. A strong armed party of natives and Europeans started this morning to scour the bush on the Okataka and Momohaki blocks. The Government offer a reward to any person materially aiding m the capture of Hiroki. No efforts are beiug spared by the Government officers or settlers, and the Waitotara natives are shewing themselves willing to help. Hone Pihima was at Waitotara today assisting the search and organisign a party to act irk conjunction with Captain Wray. ALEXANDRA, Thursday. The news of the murder at Waimate appears to have been known to the Kingites before the Europeans here. They say the murder was caused on account of the survey being made. WELLINGTON, Wednesday.
