Patrick Conroy was charged, by Sergeant McGrovern, with furiously riding m a public steet m the borough, t contrary to the borough by-laws. Defendant pleaded guilty. The Court said such dangerous practices must be put. a stop to, but, as he had pleaded guilty, would inflict a small fine of 10s, and cost (Js Od. T. Wood, charged with a similar offence, pleaded not guilty. Constable Haddock, deposed, thai on the 17th inst., between 9 and 10 a.m., _ho was standing inside Mr Martin's store, m Victoria sfreet. He heard the clatter of a horses hoofs, and, coming out, saw defendant galloping up the street. The horse, ho considerd, was going at a furious pace.
