TIIUKSDAY. In the House, this afternoon the Native Minister stated with regard to the Waiapu murder, that every obsticle had been removed;' the prisoners had all been arrested, and a po.-t mortem examination of the body held.. In reference to robberies on the West Coast, the Government had issued instructions for the immediate arrest of the accused, and one had been arrested m Te Whiti's country, and was now m the lock-up.
Friday. TROM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT. In reply to a question , without notice, the ITon. Mr M^candrew stated that it was proposed to introduce" a Railway Bill,for the construction of the new lines of railway referred to m the Public Works Statement. The Hon Mr Sheehan m reply to a question, said that Government did not intand taking any steps to place the various Licensed Victuallers Association m the colony upon an equal footing, by equalizing the licensing fees. Mr Sheehan is discussing the Whakatane Grants Validation Bill. He said the Government would jealously guard, all lands reserved for natives. He hoped that the day was not far distant when the land could be obtained from natives vvithout submitting applications to public tender.
