WAIKATO TURF CLUB.

The Annual Meeting of the abovo Club was held in Gwynne's Hamilton Hotel, on Monday evening last. Mr R. W. Hammond in the chair. The report and balance-sheet shewed the financial position of the Club to be in a very satisfactory state, a large portion of the liability incurred'in the erection of the grand Stand having-, been cleared off. On the motion of Mr R, Laishley, seconded by Mr VV. L. Martyn, the report and balance-sheet were adopted. ■ • •.•■■- : :;.=;-

It was resolved on the motion of Mr J. B. Wi.yteV "That the Committee for the ensuing year consist of Messrs Byrdri-'J. Runciman, S. Steele, W. Rutherford, W. L. Martyn, K. Hill, and F. A. Whitker."

Mr K. Hill proposed, " That Mr R. W. Hammond be instructed to see Mr Rose, Mi- Williamson's agent, and arrange for the "purchase of the course.

Seconded by Mr J Runciman and carried. ■

Mr Laishty proposed, and Mr R. F. Sandes seconded " That the Secretary be instructed to call a special, meeting for the purp-se of altering Role 10, to admit of the number of tlie committee being increased, also to provide for the election of a President, who by virtue of hisoffice shall be a member of the Committee." Carried. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the proceedings.
