WAIKATO COUNTY REPRESENTATAION.
Sir, — I have endeavoured to put the question of the Waikato County Representation clearly and impartially before the public, but there is one very important point which. I inadvertently omitted iu my letter of Saturday to mention Councillor Clark's motion for the re-dis-tribution of the representation would have left eight members instead of seven On all closely contested questions this •would have given a double vote to the chairman, and still further have thrown thebalance of power in one direction. By dividing Tamahere, as done at the late special meeting, the number of councillors remains seven, and in a full, quorum the objectionable resort to tlie chairmans casting vote need never be had recourse to.— l am. &c, J. B. Wotte.
