THE REQUISITION TO MR WHITAKEE.

(To the Editor of the Waikato Times.) Sir, —As a simple act of justice to myself, you will, I know, accord me a small space for the subjoined Bmall letter, which explains itself.—l am, dear sir, yours faithfully, William Johns. To the Gentleman (or Gentlemen) inserting the electioneering requisition list to F. A. Whitaker, Esq., in the Waikato Times : Sir (or Sirs), —As yon have fraudulently attached my name to an electioneering requisition fist inserted in the Waikato Times, I give you notice that—unless within seven days from this date you remove it, make me a public apology through the. WAikATO Times newspaper, and contribute £5 to the Auckland Orphan Home funds—l shall enter an action against you in the Supreme Court. I need hardly point out that a party who can be guilty of such dishonest and dishonorable acts can hardly be entitled to the respect and confidence of the Waipa electors at large.—l am, &c, William Johns. Te Awamutu, June 29, 1878.

(Per favor of Waikato Times.) To Mr Wm. Awamutu, Waikato. Sir, —Tour letter, as it appears in today's issue of the Waikato Times, was handed to Mr Whitaker's committee for prompt attention. In reply, I beg to say that Sir "Whitaker's committee are ignorant of the fact of your name being attached to the requisition handed to that gentleman and published in the "Waikato Times. They heartily endorse your remarks " that a party who can be guilty of such dishonest and dishonorable acts (as mentioned in your letter) can hardly be entitled to ,the respect and confidence of the "Waipa electors at large," but they are not aware of having acted in such a manner, and are in a position to produce either the original autographs of the persons signing, or the authority for every name appended to 3uch requisition. They believe their candidate will receive the respect and support of the electors of the whole of the Waipa constituency.— I am, «fec, K. Hill, Chairman of Committee.
