THE RAGLAN AND WAIPA ROAD.

We have made careful enquiry into the circumstances of the stoppage of the Raglan and Waipa Koad since the report first reached us that this work had been stopped byorder of the King-, and have reason to believe that the interference lias not been the result of the late negotiations, that in fact the King has had nothing- to do with the matter. It would seem to be the act of certain natives who have used the King's name to give a weight and authority to their inteference which it would not otherwise have possesse-J. It is a matter for congratulation to the scttlei * to know that the interference has no deeper significance.
