CAMBRIDGE FARMERS' CLUB.

[Report of meeting of Monday 10th i»st. continued.] AGRICULTURAL SHOW FOR 1878. Mit Clark on behalf of the Show Committee submitted the following suggestions to the Club. 1. That the Annual Show under the auspices of the Club be held on Thursday, the 24tli of October. 2. That/the Showbeheldat Hamilton, subject to certain conditions. 3. The prize list was also submitted, which was nearly the same as that of last year. The principal alterations were that in cattle there was to be no distinction between grade and pedigree ftock, and in the implements instead of the best collection, prizes will be given for the best double-furrow plough, the best single furrow, the best harrows of several descriptions, the best cart &c, &c. Mr Buttle said with regard to holding the show at Hamilton, it was thought bettor to do so this year on condition that the Hamilton people guaranteed £IOO towards it. Mr John Runcimann asked the Secretary whether he had received any communication from the Waikato Agricultural Association, about holding a show in conjunction with them. He thought it would be better to hold the Show at Ohaupo. By the time they intended to hold the Show the bridge at the Narrows would be erected which would ciake Ohaupo much more central for all Waikato. Mr Clark said the object of holding the Show at Hamilton was that exhibits could be brought both by rail and river. Several gentlemen were of opinion that it ought to be held in Camqridge again. But it was subsebuently resolved that the Secretary be instructed to write to the Mayor of Hamilton and the Chairman of the Cambridge Town Board, to ask how much each township would contribute, if the Show was held in either township. Tho Secretary was asked whether, when the subscripting for last j-ear's Show were being collected the Hamilton subscribers were not promised that the Show for this year would be held there. Mr Clark said he w?s one who collected 'from Hamilton, and there was no promise of the kind given, but what was said was this : " That although tho first Show was to be held at Cambridge it did not follow that that of next year would be held there too." It was then agreed to postpone '

the dismission on this question, ami on tho prize Jist till the.special mooting of the Club to be called to receive the report of the CommissidnV for the investigation of the late alleged scab case, when the Secretary would have received replies from the Mayor of Hamilton, and the Chairman of the Cambridge Town Board. Some accounts were then passed and ordered to be paid, and the President left the Chair.
