STOPPAGE OF ROAD.
MKETING Or RATEPAYERS Op THE CAMBRIDGE HIGHWAY DISTEIOT. There was :i. fair attendance at the above meeting-, held on Saturday, at which Captain Runoiman presided.* The Chairman rend the advertisement convening the meeting, which was for the purpose of deciding- whether the road — commencing at section Nos. 101 and 103, und ending fit section Nos. 116 and 117, Cambridge [Highway District — should be stopped or not, by a majority of ratepayers. Mr Smith, moved that the road above mentioned be stopped, and disposed of m accordance with the Act. — Mr Fergusson seconded the motion, and it was carried unanimously. MrW. E hid moved, "That this meet-, ing is of opinion that the price — viz. : £-1 \»it acre — is a fair one for the road m question, and Messrs Fantham and Clark's application to purchase be accepted." — Mr Forrest seconded. It was carried i Luaniinously. This was all the business.
