Cricket Clubs took place on our i township, green. • Our opponents i began;. to roll up about 10 a.m , and play commenced shortly after. The township during the whole day had quite' 1 a lively appearaneo. In addition to the European spectators, a number of natives congregated upon , tbo grouud, and "warmly applauded the hits ; and well they might when Edgecumbe made outs of five each. In the evening our visitors were treated to tho light fantastic in the school room. The music was provided by Mr R. B. Braithwaile, who kindly played the whole evening. I believe our visitors were pleased with their trip, at all events we were ; and it is to be hoped that this is nob tho last match between the Wbatawhata and Ngaruawahia Cricket Clubs. — Owx Correspondent.
