On the jury coming 1 into Court on Tuesday, after having been soina hours coming to a decision, the Registrar read over the issues, and the foreman gave the following answers ; — 1. Did the defendants~safely ami securely land the plaintiff at Newcastle, m the declaration menfionod? — Foreman : No. 2. Did the defendants so negligently and unskilfully conduct themselves m carrying and landing the •plaintiff at Newcastle aforesaid, (ihat the'splaintifP was thereby injured as alleged ? — Foreman : Yes ; neglect on the part of the defendants. 3; Did the plaintiff on his part, and while being so carried and laqded, exercise and t»ke reasynablo

and ordinary care not to incur, and by the exercise of such euro to avoid, the happening of any injury to himself '?— Foreman : Nino say no , three say yes. 4, Was the injury complained of caused by the failure of the plaintiff to exercise such cave as m the third issue mentioned ?— Foreman : Nine say yes ; three say no. 5. What sum, if any, as damages, is the plaintiff entitled to recover from the defendonts m this action ? Foreman : We have not considered that issue, considering that the answer to the third one disposed of it. His Honor Buid an answer would have to be returned. After consulting together, the foreman said nine jurymen were for «, warding the plaintiff nothing, and three thought he should get something. This was beld practically as a verdict for deiendants, and was so entered. .
