The conditions of firmg 1 -were the same . as on the Saturday previous — viz., riding'rouud a course, and jumping- two hurdles, before firing each shot. This, of course, caused excitement, and, m consequence, less steadiness, the scores, there ' fore, could not be expected to bo so high 8 as if the firing took place under the ordinary conditions. But the idea is a good one, as, if there is ever any necessity for the services of the troop, the firing must take place under some excitement, and the most steady will render most f service.
