THE BOY FRANCIS BROWN.
Sin,- 1 -Having- seen an account in youv issue ef the 2nd of April, about a lad by the name of Francis Hrown that has been missing for some timo, I thought it a duty to inform you that the boy came to my house, in a very poor miserable state, about a fortnight ago, whereupon my wife took him in. The boy explained that he had ruu away from the Natives, and wished to bo protected; ho also wished to stay with me. I told him that he could, and that I would communicate with his mother, which I have already done. He seems a very intelligent boy, and can road very well. He tells me that he wrote a letter to his mother some timo ago, ancl had it returned through the Dead Letter Office, I shall endeavour to do all lean for the boy until ho cun bo returned to his mother, —I ain, «Src, J, Bijbry, Paterangi, April 4th, 1878,
