TUESDAY'S CAVALRY REVIEW.

Sie, —I trust, as a member of the corp, that my comrades will to a man attend this the first occasion on which all the troops in Waikato have been invited to assemble for a general inspection by a Minister, and see that it is the duty of every member of each troop to be in his place to prove that their officers are not returning names of men on paper only. It is to be hoped, also, that as many honorary members as can possibly appear in their uniform will do so, as such would tend greatly to prove to the men who were active members of the troop.s, and sacrificing a gojd deal of valuable time and money, that their services were appreciated, and that such as the expression of a few, that we were fools to protect other men's property at the loss of our own time and expense, was not the general expression, for I don't care who the man is but when he knows that his services are appreciated he will give his time and attention much more willingly either for pay or without. For some time yet at least it will be for the interests of Waikato generally that the efficiency of the cavalry should be maintained. As the adage says, " prevvention is better than cure." The very fact of our existence will tend greatly to make our services not required.—l am, &C, VOLTJNTEEE.
