RESIDENT MAGISTRATES' COURT.
Hamilton, March 18, 1878. (Before W. N. Searancke, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. John Fritton alias Walsh, pleaded guilty to the above offence In reply to the Court, Sergeant McGovern stated that the prisoner was unknown to the police; but that there was another charge against him, that of making use of bad language m a public place. The grisoner falso pleaded guilty to this offence. Fined 5s and costs for the drunkenness, and 20s and costs for tbe bad language ; m default of payment, seven days' imprisonment. Martin Brown, an old offender, pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness. Fined 20s and costs; m default, 7 dciys' imprisonment. FALSE PRETNCEES. John Casey was charged with obtaining money by false pretences Sergf. McGovern stated that the offence was committed m Auckland, and a warrant was issued for the prisoner's arrest. At the request of the Sergeant the Court remandecl the prisoner to Auckland,
