THE COMING RACES.
Sib, — I am father surprised that the Waikato Turf Club, m their programme for the February meeting:, have omitted i trotting race. Perhaps it is merely an oversight, which will be rectified ; or it may be that the last (so-called) trottingraoe on the Ohaupo course) combined with the handicapping at Cambridge, have set the Club against trotting races. It seems a great pity, as no race, commands more interest and attention, and the number of horses always entered is good proof of this. It is to be hoped that the Club will reconsider, and add a trotting race to their programme, especially aj it can be done with little, if any, expenditure of
iertaia io.be eight or tea entered This would cauae no exp«aae whatever tc the Club further than the carrying out oi tie race.— l am, etc., Sfobtiho.
