[From our Special Correspolent.] Wellington, last nigltf^. r A long discussion occurred in tne House to-day over the subjeot of disqulification, Major Atkinson drawing attention to the fact that Mr Larnach is disqualified, by the firm of Guthrie and Larnach having, in August last, contraoted to supply 11,100 sleepers to Government. The matter was referred to a committee. Mr Rees moved that, so soon as the Kennedy case is finished, the committee enter into the alleged disqualification of Mr Whitaker. After a long debate, the motion was agreed to, with the amendmeut that Mr Button be placed on the committee, in place of Mr Whitaker. With regard to Mr Kennedy, the committee have agreed that he is a contractor, but referred the matter for the Solicitor-General's opinion, whether his being so disqualified him. It is said about a dozen other seats in the House are likely to be questioned. Tne * Waka Maori' debate was resumed by Mr McLean; Tairoa spoke against the Government, Beetham in favor, and Murray is now speaking against them. The division will take place to-night. The Government are sure of a majority of five. It is ruinoured in the House th <t a row took place over theattempbel survey at Murimutu to-day, and that a man has been killed.
