LAST NIGHT'S LEGTUrtE. TUBES was a full attendance las; night at Le Que; ne's H»ll on the ocoashn of the lecture on ''The Tower of London." delivered by the Rev Charles Clark. Many had doubtless heard the lecturer before, while all had heard of his rare and marvellous powers of language and elocution. Great as was the expectation, tne realiiiition of intellectual c joyment was gratifi >d to the fullest possible measure The audience was' held m wrapt attention throughout, now provoked to m*rriinent at the delightfully vulgar sayings put into the mouhnsol kini_;B and bisbops, who li»ed ceuturies before the days of Artemua Ward, or by tne comic description of .he escape Q* the Bishop of Durham from the Tower— now wrougnt to a state of deeper feeling at the j affecting descriptions of tue deaths of venerable men and beautiful women wh» died within its walls, for conscience sake.
