Mkssrs Gibbons and Campbell intend running a steamer between Newcastle and Cambridge, and between Newcastle and Alexandra. Further particulars will be shortly furnished in our advertising columns. Waikvto Steam Navigaton Company.—We would draw attention to tbe amended time-table of the abdv.i company's steamers, and the facilities afforded for passengers and goods both on the Waikato and Waipa Rivera, especially the night boat from Newcastle to Hamilton, and the extra trip from Newcastle to Alexandra Merino Sheep. ■— Mr W Earl has broaqht to Auckland by the ' Hero,' just arrived, some eight-and-twenty ewes and rams from the celebrated floc'cs of Mr J. Gibson and the Messrs Taylor, of Tusmania—the sheep to which we alluded in a late issue as the produce of the famous m-rino ram Sir Thomas, which realised over £714. Yesterday, a Mrs Kiddle, of Hamilton Kast, was arreste 1 on a warrant as a person of unsound mind. The attention of the police was drawn to Mrs Kiddle's state, that she had that previous night had an altercation with her husband, and threatened to commit suicide. The Waikato police, at Hamilton, are married men, and preferred that, on such grounds atdne, Kiddle shou d take the responsibility* of the arrest, which he did by layiag an information yesterday. The woman will be brought up for examination to-day.
