.}"■ >'■ BODY WASHED ASHOBE. September 14th. A Coroners. Inquest atstmbled at > Graham's .Hotel, to inveeiigate the cause of death, &c, of a body found on the •each at Te Aoterei, about ten miles down tbe coast; The inquest was adjourned until Thursday, to enable the removal of the body to Raglan. The jury relurneri a verdict to the efftct that, 'It wtia the booy of some person unknown, who had, apparently, been drowned.' -'The body was deficient, of a portion of one aim from the elbow, also one leg from the knee downwards, and the lower jaw. , The skull wAs perfectly bare, not a vestage of hair' upon it, nor any flesh ; the teeth, also,. were all gone. It was impossible to identify the body, further than to say it was that of a European male. As to , whether the remains were those of one of the unfortunates who v/ere drowned at the* lime of the wreck of the Echo, on the 18th ultimo, or whether they were those of one of the crew of the Dante, there was no evidence, nor any marks by which the jury could ideutify the body. The Baglan Cricket Club givo a burlesque entertainment at the Court Hou-e, Raglan, on Friday, the 21st inst. The programme consis's or Songs, Dialogues, Btump Orations, Farces and Plantations, and is to conclude with the farce of * The Darkey Photographer.' A full moon, a la Hamilton, has been provided for tbe ocoasion.— Own Correspo>dent.
