THE CATTLE NUISANCE.

Sib,— after a short and temporary absence at a farm on the Ohaupo Road, the old and well remembered face of the late mill provider of a well-known Hamilton oflioial could be seen the other evening m this township as night approachod, auspiciously eyeing the wa-<k points m several garden gates, preparatory to a general cleaning up when the respective md confiding owners might retire for the night. Fortunately on this occasion, whether from the temporary absence from garden produce or impatience at the lengthened delay, the usual caution was not observed, aoda dash was made fora savoury morsel that could be eyed convenient with no great obstacle apparently m the way, except a fence, and a pretty stout gate. Probably the latter means of ingress, after a survey,^ was considered most feasable, as it was carried by assiult m the most business like manner, and the \longed for hopes about to be realized when the owner of the invaded enclosure came to the rescue. It is to be hoped that the happy possessor of this itenerant and dishonest animal will,#if he can, control her thioring propensities, for to feseo or fortify against her would require a Todleben,— Yours,* &c, Kitchen Gabden. Hamilton West, 30th July, 1877.
