AUCKLAND AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of subscribers was held yesterday for the purpose of confirming the rules and electing the officers of the association. Present: Messrs Hurst, Roskruge, Larkius, W F Buckland, J Pounds, Lewisson, Hugh Knox, R Hill,- J Dill.. worth, A Buckland, T Morrin W McLonghlan, T Lamb, Robert McLean, B Tonics, J Banks, M H Roe, W~ J Marks, Thomas Paton, J B Hay, R J Middleton, J Cosgrave, and Mr W J Hurst (Mayor). On the motion of Mr Alfred Buckland, his Worship the Mayor was elected to preside over the meetiug. The notice convening the meeting was read, and Mr Percival was elected secretary pro iem.
The Chairman read the drafted rules seriatiiiiy which were carried to the following effect:—. The title and*description of the Association as above. 11. The election of members by proposer and seconder subscriptions to be three guineas per annum. 111. The annual general meeting to be held in the month of March. IV The affairs of the Association to be managed by president, vice-president, treasurer, and committee (not less than seven), a third to .retire by rotation. V. The committee to meet, and the chairman (president) to have a casting vote and a deliberative vote. VJ. Secretaiy to be appointed with duties prescribed. VII. Minutes of meeting to be confirmed at following meeting. VIII. Meeting of committee to be monthly. Rules IX, X, XI, XII, XIII relate to subscriptions in arrears, paying accounts, <ssc.
, Election of Offjceus. -On the motion of Mr John Lamb,, seconded by Mr Thomas Morrin, John Logan Campbell, Esq., was elected president of the Association. On the motion of Mr Thomas Morrin, seconded by Mr John Lamb, James Dilwortb, Esq., wrs elected vicepresident. On the motion of McLoughlan, seconded by Mr R Hall, Mr Alfred Buckland was elected treasurer.
Committee.—The following gentlemen . were elected the committee of the Association: Messrs James Wallace (Hillside), W McLoughlan, A Anderson, Every McLean, T Morrin, Joseph May, J Bainbridge, Joseph Banks, W J Taylor, .W Gardner, R Hall, and J Lamb.
This concluded the business of* the meeting. On the motion of Mr Thomas Morrin, a vote of thanks was passed to his Worship the Mayor for having presided at the first meeting of the Association. At a meeting of the committee Mr Peroival was elected secretary. •~« Herald," July 28.
