CONFIRMATION OF' THE .RUSSIAN REPULSE AT BATOUxM. TURKISH IRONCLADS BOMBARD SUKHUM'KALEH. DESPERATE BATTLE ON LAND. ( MANY KILLED AND WOUJNDED. London. May 18 The Russian entry into the Dobrudscha is unconfirmed. A British despatch states that the Circassians have revolted and captured Sukhum Kaleh. : The Russsan fleet left America with sealed orders. - London, May 17. The head-quarters of the Russian forces is now transferred to Polyesti. [Polyesti is a town in Wallachia, about thirty miles to the northward ot Bucharest, the capital of Roumania, with which it communicates by railway.] The report of the repulse of the Russian troops at Batoum. is substantially confirmed. The Russiau despatches state that the Turkish ironclads bombarded Sukhum-Kaloh, in Asia. A desperate battle was fought on land. Many wore killed and wounded. The French Ministry have resigned.
