The true cause is no doubt the small yield of Saturday lash in comparison with the previous return, and the absence of that large haul of specimens which was looked forward to being reported every morning. A glance at the telr-grarns of our correspondent, and those of the mine maiuer, will, however, explain the reason aud we conclude f..im these that all dead wirk necessary for aj fewdays has been finished, and that the breaking down of the spechneu run wi 1 be undertaken "at once, the rirst rt-eult of which wilt be to hand this mommy. Tlui fo ! l->wiug t< legrams were received ye tenlay by Mr White;—" Grahams town, 11.50 a.m -Undercutting. 2c\vt *ueeiinens. M. The minutes of" the preceding meetiug haying been read and confirmed the Chairman called upon the Secretary for the report of the Committee, which together with the Auditors report was read and adopted. The report concluded with a recommendation from the outgoing .Committee that the next show of the society for the exhibition of stock, implements, farm produce, &c, should be held at Ohaupo, and showed a balance on hand of £35. A discussion which we must hold over till our next, then arose as to the time for holding- the show, when on the motion of Major Tisdall seconded by Mr Hammond it was proposed that there should be an Autumn show as well as one in the Spring. Mr Mandenon moved and Mr Rutherford seconded an amendment " that there be only one show." The amendment was carried, Major Tisdale then proposed and Mr Mr seconded that the show be held in the Autumn. The motion was carried by a bare majority, and would havs met with a different fate had those remaining outside on the verandah come in add voted.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
