WINIATA AGAIN. The " Star" states on authority of a native correspondent that Winiata goes about in constant dread of being captured by friendly natives, and handed over to the Government. He is especially afraid of the Ngatihaua people who have no sympathy whatever with him, and have threatened to capture him if possible. During the daytime Winiata sleeps and is watched by friends, but during the night he is so afraid of being surprised that he goos constantly armed with two double barrelled guns over his back, two revolveri in his beH aud a revolver in each hand. He also carries three cartridge boxes. He is said to be very restless, and is continually looking about him. Ho i$ aware that tke , cupidity of some of his countrymen has been excited by the reward offered by Government. At the wool sale to-day locks fetched from 2£d to 4d ; longwool in grease brought 6d to ll^d ; longwool washed, 9d to Is 3£. Tonks sold to-day lot 623, NgarnaI wahia with store and dwelling house, £400. Lot 77, Alexandra, west county, £12 10s. Lot 78, £12 10. Lot 3, Parish of Paparoa, Kaiparc county, 4S acres, 15s per acre. Lot 10, Parish of Horotiu on the Waipa River 50 acres, £200. Lot 600, Ngaruawahia, £300. Lot 626 and 662, Ngaruawahia, with four houses, £275. Lot 661, .Ngaruawahia, with one house, £60* Auckland's sale of Poverty Bay horses was well attended. Bidding spirited, various lots fetched capital prices varying fram £5 to £27 10s. Seventy lots offered erery one wai quitted. BIfFF, last night. Arawata arrived with Suez mail.
